A celebration of life for Kay B. Hitt, 69, will be Feb. 22, 2010, at 4 p.m., at the Amvets Post 11 (951 Hermon Road) in Wasilla.

Kay died Feb. 13 at home from lung cancer. Kay was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She worked in the food service industry from 1960 to 1977. Kay was a member of the American Legion Post 35 and also Amvets Auxiliary Post 11. She enjoyed playing games, especially Texas hold’em.

According to her family, “Kay lived her life with no regrets. She wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. She worked on towboats and in gold mines. As she was dictating her obituary, the one thing she wanted people to know is: ‘She liked to live wild and dangerously.’ And she did …”
