Longtime Alaskan resident Kay Phillip Horton, 84, died peacefully in Wasilla surrounded by family. Born in Harlingen, Texas, he enlisted with the Army and came to Alaska where he met his wife, Lorena Ann Larsen in Nome. Together they lived as true pioneers throughout many small towns and villages in Alaska. He enjoyed flying his airplanes and achieved his dream to be a true Alaskan bush pilot. Kay is survived by his wife of 62 years, Loren Horton; his daughters, Kathleen (and Tim) Krug, and Marguerite Goodman; grandchildren, Kayla Scheibl, Adam, Janine, and Dustin Goodman. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Scheibl, and his little black pug, Tippy.
