Ken Mortensen

June 29, 1945-March 11, 2023

Kenneth Rex Mortensen passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He bravely battled an aggressive small cell cancer the last few months of his life.

Ken and Sheila owned and operated Riverside Camper Park in Houston for 23 years. They met many good people over the years and developed lasting friendships. The park became their family gathering place and the grandkids all loved spending time together there. Ken also worked as the asset manager for Mat Su Health Services for many years. In the spring of 2021, they sold the RV Park and retired and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, a little closer to his hometown.

Ken is survived by his wife Sheila, children Shayne (Tammee) of Blanding, Utah, Kristen (Eddie) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Cameron (Kaymbra) and KenaDawn of Bethel, Alaska. Thirteen grandchildren, Meghan, Kyler (Taylor), Sierra, Jordan (Shawn), Drew, Sydnee (Justin), Devyn, Hunter, Gaven, Eli, Seth, Kaelor and Ella, five great grandchildren, Maverick, Marley, Khalil, Emmett and Lennox, as well as brothers and sisters in law, many nieces and nephews and some great friends.

A memorial service will be held on July 8 in Blanding, Utah.
