Kenneth Whatley was born on Feb. 24, 1928, in Big Springs, Texas. He passed to his rest on March 26, 2016 in Palmer, Alaska.
Kenneth moved to the Matanuska Valley with his first wife, Faye Nona, from Texas, in 1951 and raised his family here. He loved Alaska and his many friends here.
Kenneth is survived by his second wife Darlene; his children from his first marriage; son, Danny and daughter in law, LaDean; daughter, Janette and son in law Rod, daughter, Karen and son, Kenny and daughter in law Rhonda; his grandchildren, Rachelle and Gregory and step granddaughter Vanessa. He is survived by his second wife’s children Teresa, Rosie, and Walter; and step grandchildren, Tami and Debbie. He is survived by his brother, Richard and sisters Helen and Jane. He was preceded in death by his brother Carl and sister, Dorothy.
There will be a memorial service for Kenneth at the Palmer Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 2238 South Inner Springer Loop, on Friday, April 8 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or to the Palmer Adventist Church evangelism fund.
