Kerry G. Farnsworth

Wasilla resident Kerry G. Farnsworth, 67, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 15, 2017, at his residence.

Kerry was born to Gail Davies and Jean (Densley) Farnsworth March 24, 1950, in Salt Lake, Utah.

After graduation, Kerry served in the U.S. Navy for six years. Kerry served on the USS Forrestal, USS Kittyhawk and the USS John F. Kennedy.

Kerry was a lifetime Trucker. Kerry trucked up and down the Alcan Highway and most every state in the U.S. He retired from driving semis in 2015, he then spent the bulk of his time at Yukon Services helping where he could, but enjoying his ‘family’ at the shop.

Kerry moved to Alaska in 1998. On December 17, 1998, he married his loving wife Marylin Jurgens. Kerry and Marylin helped raise grandchildren Dylan and Madysen McRee. Then recently with great grandchildren Amelia George and Taylor McRee.

Kerry was a man of the outdoors. When he wasn’t out hunting and fishing he was preparing for his next adventure. This spring he got his bear bait station set up with the help of Boston and Jim Jurgens, his hunting buddies! Kerry wanted to pass his passion of hunting and fishing onto his grandkids and anyone who wanted to join.

Kerry is survived by his wife Marylin; children, Steven (Amy) of Utah; Andy (Ellen) of Oklahoma; Jim (HaLee) Jurgens of Alaska; Angie (Jay) Larson of Alaska; Stephanie Jurgens of Alaska; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers David (Kathy) of Utah; Scott (Leita) of Arizona; Kevin (Stephanie) of Oregon; 1 sister Claudia (Allen) Barney of Utah; many nieces nephews and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Kerry’s family and friends gathered for a Celebration of Life in his memory, he was also provided with Military Honors via the U.S. Navy.
