Kerstin Maria Jackson, 76., of Wasilla passed away in the early morning hours of July 8th at Mat-Su Regional Hospital. Kerstin was born May 13th, 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden to Axel Gunnar Edsholt and Emma Maria Edsholt, immigrating to the USA shortly after her 19th birthday. In 1971, Kerstin moved with her husband, Kenneth Jackson, and two children to Alaska. She was an avid outdoors woman and traveled all over the state during her lifetime. She is remembered as an independent, hard-working and strong-willed woman. Kerstin was proud of her heritage, patriotic towards her country, and loyal to her home, Alaska. She spent her life providing car for the sick and elderly, working with Alzheimer’s patients and their families in the Mat-Su area. Kerstin was preceded in death by two children Kristin Jackson and Eric Jackson. She is survived by her children, Lise Gregory and Niklas Jackson, her 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. No public services will be held in honor of her request, but a small, private gathering will be conducted in her memory.
