Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Palmer resident Kevin Richard Billings, 50, died July 16, 2011.
Kevin was born Jan. 26, 1961, in Virginia and was raised in Hollywood, Fla. He moved from there to Petersburg and back to south Florida before moving to Leadville, Colo., and eventually to Palmer in 2004.
A memorial service is at 6 p.m., Sunday, July 24 at the Fox Run Clubhouse, Mile 36.3 of the Glenn Highway. All are invited to share in the celebration of Kevin’s life and share stories and pictures (bring your pictures) of the good times you’ve had with Kevin. Visitors are invited to bring a dish for a potluck dinner and campfire. For directions, call 745-6120.
Surviving are his daughter, 9; four sisters; mother; stepfather; niece and nephews.
Kevin was known for his strong work ethic as a master plumber. He was a hard-working man who was honest, always helpful to others and concerned about others. His favorite color was blue. He loved watching movies, listening to music, fishing, barbecues and camping.
