Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lifelong Valley resident, Kimberle Alice Hunter, passed away at Mat Su Regional Hospital on January 17, 2023. Kim was born at the Palmer Hospital on February 4, 1958 to Richard and Lavonna McAllister. Kim graduated from Palmer High School in 1976. She worked at a bank, MTA, and retired as a food service worker at Houston High School. Kim lived in Wasilla where she raised her three children. She married Duane Hunter who was by her side until the end. Kim loved camping, especially at their cabin on Lockwood Lake. One of her hobbies was making fur hats.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sheryl Kunesh. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Duane Hunter, her three children, Levi, Karlie and Dalton Jacobs, and her grandchildren, Kolson and Taren. Also surviving is her brother, Kurt (Althea) McAllister.
A memorial is planned for the spring.
