Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Kimberly Ann Van Bebber, 54, of Wasilla passed away July 12, 2015.
Kimberly was born Oct. 18, 1960, in San Mateo, California, the youngest of two children.
She grew up in Fremont, California, and graduated from Irvington High School in 1978.
She came to Alaska in 1988 with her soul mate, Ray (Bear) Harris.
Kimberly was the most pleasant, positive and caring person one could ever meet. She was a devoted spouse, co-worker and friend. Kimberly was an amazing chef and worked for Best Western Hotel restaurant, Doyon Co. (on the North Slope) and most recently Chugach Electric. She also volunteered to cook at the American Legion in Wasilla Post No. 35.
Her hobbies were cooking, fishing and hunting. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, co-workers and the Sheep Creek Gang.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Ray “Bear” Harris; and father, Frederick Van Bebber.
Surviving are her mother, Patricia Van Bebber; brother, Robert Van Bebber; stepsons, Vincent, Victor and Ray Harris Jr., nephews Chris and Eric Van Bebber, and a niece Jillian Van Bebber.
A celebration of life is planned at a later date for family and friends.
