Wasilla resident Kimberly Leann “Mimi” Mills, 39, died at home Jan. 31, 2008.
Funeral services were held Feb. 7 at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla, with cremation following.
Mills was born Nov. 16, 1968, in Fresno, Calif. She came to Alaska 12 years ago and was employed as a department manager at the Wasilla Fred Meyer Store.
Her family said she loved Alaska and always said, “When it’s hot out you can only take so much off, but when it’s cold you can always put more on.”
Mills was a strong woman, beautiful inside and out. She was always happy and bubbly, no matter what she felt inside. She loved her family, her sons, her mother, her brothers and sister, and all her nieces and nephews, who all call her “Mimi.”
The stars seemed to shine in her eyes, the memories seem to fly.
The heartfelt tears as we say goodbye.
We sit here and wonder why this beautiful person was called to the Lord.
The pain we feel cuts like a sword.
This all seems too soon as we pray and cry by the light of the moon.
We love you, Mimi and always will, her family wrote.
Mills is survived by husband, Dwayne Mills; sons John and James Brown; daughter-in-law Megan Brown; sister Melody Hood; brothers Kevin and Steven Stewart; and mother Agatha Stewart.
