Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Longtime Palmer resident Kimberly Sue Steele, 55, died Dec. 19, 2012, from kidney cancer while visiting family in Michigan. Family was by her side as she drifted off to be with the Lord.
Kimberly was born Sept. 2, 1957, to Arthur Sayles and Beverly Koehn of Saginaw, Mich.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, four-wheeling, scenic drives, horseback riding, dancing, playing cards/board games and spending time with her family and friends.
“Kim was always willing to help someone else in need and known for having a big heart. She had an eye for the eccentric and was very creative,” her family said.
Surviving are her mother, Beverly Koehn; daughter and son-in-law, Kristal and Michael Smith; grandchildren, Arianna and Ethan Smith; brother, Rusty Sayles; her boyfriend, Roy Arnold; and several loving uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
A celebration of life is at 3 p.m., Jan. 27 at the Palmer Train Depot with a gathering and potluck to follow.
