In memoriam: Kristi Ann King died March 16, 2013, after being admitted to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center on March 11, the night of her 56th birthday.
She came to Alaska in 2002 and began working at H & K Sheet Metal in Anchorage. In 2004, she was employed by Builders Bargains in Palmer. Kristi was then a Mat-Com dispatcher for four years, beloved by her co-workers, many State Troopers and members of the Wasilla Police Department. Kristi had recently been hired by Master Mechanical in Wasilla as a Purchasing Agent and was enjoying her new position.
Kristi is survived by her many-year love of her life, Doug Neuman, who shared her home for 10 years. Together, they transformed the property into a veritable landscape of plants and color. They raised two German shepherds, Max and Molly, who miss their mom greatly.
Surviving are her mother, Fran Barfield of Palmer; son Jason King of Florida; daughter, Jennifer Strunk of Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial is planned in May at their home.
