Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Kyte Eugene Rouse, 47, died Oct. 21, 2008 at home from cancer.
Rouse was born April 10, 1961 in Kellogg, Idaho. He came to Alaska in 1967.
Kyte worked at Red Dog Mine as a carpenter and welder. He loved fishing and riding his four-wheeler.
His family wrote, “Kyte was a very strong, loving father and husband. We will miss him dearly.”
He is survived by his wife, Tana Ferreira; daughters, Jamie and Kayleigh Rouse; mother, Wanda Iorio; brother, Gary Combs; and grandson, Jessiahes Fleming.
A celebration of his life was held Saturday at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel & Crematory in Wasilla. Officiating was Rev. Dan Grisham. Visitation followed. Internment at Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla also followed the service.
