Lance Mackey died on September 7, 2022 in the same hospital in which he was born 52 years earlier, Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
Lance was born and raised in Alaska, living in many different places from Coldfoot to Clam Gulch. He worked as a commercial fisherman, carpenter, and dog musher. There is so much to say and that has been said already, we just want people to know he loved life with a reckless abandon.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Becky Nickerson; his mother, Kathie Smith; and his partner, Jenne Smith.
He is survived by spiritual wife, Seane English, children, Amanda (David) Marshall, Brittany Mackey, Alanah Mackey, Cain Carter, Atigun Mackey, and Lozen Mackey; grandchildren, Abigail, Blaine, Bennett, and Lucas Marshall, James Hawkins, Davidson Mackey, Jayce Mackey; father Dick (Cathy) Mackey; brothers and sisters Rick (Patti) Mackey, Bill Mackey, Kaye (Scott) Saxon, Kim (Rick) Jensen, Jason (Lisa) Mackey, Kristin (James) Elieff, and Wes (Eden) Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
