Laura Faith Tutt went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2014, in Vancouver, Washington. She was born an only child on Oct. 28, 1952, to Clark and Helen DeGarmo in Monticello, Minn. Both of her parents were adventurous and felt called to Alaska, so the three of them packed up and drove the long road to Alaska when Laura was just a toddler. As a creative nature lover, Alaska was a wonderful inspiration for Laura’s paintings, photography and her writing and she loved all of the different Alaskan communities in which she was blessed to live. She spent the majority of her life here, in Anchorage, Homer, Cordova, Willow and Wasilla, and she left a wonderful legacy of friendships, memories, ministry and artwork that span them all. Laura and her husband of 36 years, James Ralph Tutt, moved to Washington in 2009 so they could spend even more time outdoors together in the milder climate. She passed away there of natural causes surrounded by some of the members of her family and her church. Laura will be remembered by her husband, the seven children of their blended family and spouses, their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends as a warm, loving, gracious woman. She loved to pray, read, write, paint, watch birds, take pictures, garden and explore. She was very much loved and will be missed by many.

A celebration of life service is at 2 p.m., July 12 at Church on the Rock in Wasilla. For more information, contact 373-7910.
