Lee Dale Allen was born in Bliss, Idaho in 1934. He earned a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from University of Idaho. Lee and his wife Charlotte moved to Alaska in 1956. The adventurous couple bought 40 acres and a log cabin off Palmer Fishhook. Their children, Al, Bonnie, and Carol Jane were blessed to grow up there. Lee, family and friends expanded the house and completed many projects together. Lee enjoyed his career as an agricultural engineer with University of Alaska Agricultural Experiment Station in Palmer.

He was a member of Palmer Elks Lodge. Lee was an avid snowmachiner and fisherman. He and Charlotte owned cabins on Yentna River and Anchor Point, Alaska. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, coming up with almost any necessary word. He was a hard-working man, figuring out how to build or fix anything. He was notoriously generous, plowing driveways or delivering wood to neighbors, family and friends.

Lee was preceded in death by wife, Charlotte. He is survived by his brother Doyle and family and by his three children—Albert Allen, Bonnie Allen, Carol Jane Seidlitz, and their families.

Services will be Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. at United Protestant Church in Palmer.
