Young was born April 15, 1945, in Anvik at the fish camp, living his entire life in Alaska. Most recently he lived in Palmer and went to trade school and many electronic related schools. He worked for Veco and many other oil field service companies and was affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Young enjoyed hobbies such as hunting, fishing, shooting, snowmachining, picking blueberries and other outdoor sports.

Young could make his family so happy and so angry. He did things his way. He spoke loudly, expressed what he had on his mind and was a joy to work with. Best of all, he was a friend.

Young is survived by sister Mable and brother-in-law Pius; nieces Mary, Debbie and Daisy; nephew Donald; grand-nieces and nephews Lisa, Jon, Brandon, Katlyn, Josh, Mathewe, Kayla; and his sweetie Marlane Shanigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Franklin and Donald, and sister Helen.
