Regarding a recent submission by Larry Wood (Spectrum?), “Fight For Us Mr. Governor,” I ask why he isn’t advocating for changes at the top in both our executive and legislative branches. Republicans have failed to deliver and failed miserably. We haven’t had Democrats in control in Alaska since the end of the Knowles era in 2002. I think it’s about time that voters face facts. Republicans have not focused on honest, wise government to benefit all Alaskans as provided in our state constitution. That’s largely why we find ourselves unprepared for our current fiscal crisis. No state at its inception has been in a better position to thrive in the present and invest in its future than Alaska. Ask yourselves what went wrong, why we’ve squandered our opportunies and spent our children’s future for boondoggles that lined corrupt pockets but did little to further the welfare of the people of Alaska. Enough is enough. Let’s clean house.
