I am a concerned citizen of the United States. I have actively read and watched coverage of the 2008 Presidential Election from the beginning until now. Our country has many problems dealing with gas prices, health care, the economy, women’s rights, gun control, crime, unemployment, equal pay for women, poverty and many others. We have two great candidates in the running for president, but I believe that Barack Obama will make a much better president than John McCain would. He believes in freedom, choices, and equality; what our country was founded on. Sen. Barack Obama is a very intelligent man. He has run an excellent campaign. He has a very attractive resumé and reputation. He really cares about people. More importantly, he is strong-willed, capable, and has a plan to solve the problems facing the United States today.
Senator McCain is the nominee for the Republican Party, although he is not Republican. He is an independent. He does not have answers for the problems that America is facing. He does not even agree with the ideals of the Republican Party. Until about two weeks ago, he wanted Joe Lieberman as his running mate, but the Republican Party forced him to choose a person he did not know for the purpose of appealing to women who would not make a decision based on policies, but on identity (race and sex).
This person is Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin has almost no experience in politics on a local level, and has even less experience on a national level. Because she was not seriously being vetted, her background was not investigated.
In the end, I hope the citizens of the United States and the delegates choose the person who has the answers to the problems we face. That person is Sen. Barack Obama. I hope he becomes president.
