Lettie Miller, 86, passed away on April 1, 2023 at her home in Big Lake with her family by her side. Lettie was born to Jess and Mabel O’Brien in Topeka, Kansas on May 1, 1936.
Lettie lived in Anchorage from 1962-2000 and in Big Lake from 2000-2023. She served her communities by volunteering at Birthright Alaska, the Alaska Native Medical Center Gift Shop and Our Lady of the Lake Parrish. She enjoyed her bible study class, quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Lettie was also an amazing cook.
Lettie lived with the priorities of faith and family. She embodied an adventurous spirit and courageously homesteaded, embracing the Alaska frontier. Lettie was an anchor to her family of forty-five. She was affectionately called GG by her great grandchildren.
Lettie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and Cyndi Miller, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Laurel Miller, daughter Mary Kay LeNorman, daughter and son-in-law Julie and Mario Toro, ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years John Miller and her daughter Helena.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake, 4275 S. Oscar Anderson Rd, Big Lake, AK. Donations in honor of Lettie can be made to Our Lady of the Lake, P.O. Box 520769, Big Lake, AK 99652.
