Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lila J. Peterson, 67, of Bangor, Pa., died Dec. 8, 2011, at St. Luke s Hospice in Bethlehem, Pa.
She was born March 6, 1944, in Anchorage to Jack Cooper and Innie Leppahnan Cooper. She taught French and science in Wasilla schools from 1966 to 1968 and in Flushing, N.Y.
Surviving are husband, George H. Peterson of Bangor, Pa.; children, George Peterson and his wife Danielle of Mountain Top, Pa., John Peterson and partner Craig Gardner Jr., Jean Wehrle of Bangor, Pa., and Stephan Wehrle; brothers and sisters, Ree Collins of California, John Cooper and Kenneth Cooper of Anchorage, and Ruth Cooper of Bellerose, N.Y.; grandchildren, Emily, George, Hunter and Lorennza; and many nieces and nephews. No services were planned at her request.
Finegan Funeral Home, Easton, Pa., cared for the family.
