Linda Joy McCoy
Linda Joy McCoy was born in Spokane, Washington at Deaconess Hospital on September 6, 1957. She passed away at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth, Maine on January 15, 2022.
Linda was an avid reader, surrounding herself with books. She liked to make cards with her family and friends, and loved the beach/water.
Linda lived most of her life in Alaska – moving up with her family in May of 1975. She met and married Buddy and raised her 3 children in Alaska. She was a caregiver and moved to Washington to help a friend and then to Oregon with her brother. Most recently she was in Maine helping her Uncle Chuck following heart surgery.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, David S. and Bonnie J. Gerow; her husband, Buddy McCoy and brother, Gerald Gerow.
She is survived by her children, Wendy Strohman, Angela Ingraham and Shane McCoy; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, James D. Gerow and sister, Sharon L. Mallonee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 5th at the Mat-Su Evangelical Covenant Church, Wasilla, Alaska.
