Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Linda L. Longcor, 76, died of ovarian cancer Nov. 19, 2012, while residing at an assisted living home.
Pastor, Henry Woodall will officiate at a celebration of her life at 3 p.m., Dec. 8 at the First Presbyterian Church of Wasilla, 1375 E. Bogard Road, Wasilla. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, Calif.
Linda was born on July 2, 1936, in Newton, Iowa, to Cecil and Genevieve Longcor. She graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois. Linda did office work and also was a preschool teacher.
Linda moved to Alaska in 2008, settling in Wasilla. She was a member of Friends Church in Garden Grove, Calif.; Order of Rainbow Girls; Girl Scouts of America; 4-H Club while in high school, and a member of T.O.P.S. Also, she attended First Presbyterian Church of Wasilla.
Linda enjoyed knitting and various crafts. She very much loved going to Disneyland and loved all furry critters, especially dogs.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Cecil and Genevieve Longcor.
Surviving are by her aunt, Marge Stotts; cousins, Jan Stotts, Tyler Kaufman, and Matt (Julie, Ava, Ila) Stotts, all of Wasilla; cousins, Mike (Lorraine) Stotts, Kim Stotts and Kahle Ess of Washington; cousin, Kenny Ess currently in the U.S. Army, and cousin, Mira Ingram of San Francisco; and numerous other relatives in Alaska, Washington, California and Texas.
Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory, Wasilla.
