Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Linda Lou Cottrell died at home Sept. 21, 2008 surrounded by family.
She was born Nov. 19, 1944 in Burley, Idaho, to William and Mildred Campbell. She moved to Alaska with her family in 1953. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1963.
On May 1, 1964 she married Harry Michael Cottrell and on Aug. 25, 1965 they were sealed for time and all eternity.
They had eight wonderful children. She was a homemaker and military wife.
In June 1986 the family returned to Alaska. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served joyfully in many church positions. Her family said she enjoyed baking and making blankets for others and helping out in any way she could.
She was preceded in death by father William Campbell; husband, Mike; and son Bill. She is survived by mother Mildred Campbell; brothers Gary (Velma), Clifford, Dennis (Irene), and Bill (Karen); children Mike Jr., Shirley, Lori (Dale) Brightman, Michelle (Jason) Bowman, Judi (Paul) Mainville, Robert (Susanne) and Trish; grandchildren Cameron, Chelsea, Nick, Tori, Hailey, Skyler, Dustin, Eric, Allanah and Jonathon.
Services were held Sept. 27 at the Palmer LDS building. She was interred at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.
