Linda Rene Doores
Surrounded by loved ones, Linda Rene Doores, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born on March 20, 1955, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, to Earl and Evelyn Hite. Linda grew up in a military family and they traveled the world and ultimately settled in Peter’s Creek, Alaska. Linda attended Chugiak High School class of 1973.
Linda’s call to service came from within and inspired those around her. She dedicated 25 years of service to the Anchorage School District teaching special needs children, local veterans’ groups, and many other organizations.
Linda’s passions in life were her flowers, gardens and she loved Christmas, every gift, large or small had to be wrapped.
Linda owned and operated Clown Around Face Painting with her family for over 30 years. Generations of kids and parents have had their faces painted or their hair (wild hair) done at the Alaska State Fair or any place else she found the opportunity to paint a face.
Friends and family, in Texas and Alaska, mourn her passing but will continue to honor her by celebrating her generous spirit.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Terry Hite.
Linda is survived by her husband of 27 years, David Payne; daughter, Cathy Doores (Stephen Daugherty); daughter, Carrie Doores; stepdaughter, Sonya Warren; and grandchildren, Jada Anderson and Breadan Warren.
She is also survived by siblings, Tommy Hite, Timmy Hite, Teddy Hite, and Tony Hite. Linda’s many sisters-in-law; nieces, and nephews will remember her with love and gratitude.
A family memorial is planned for the springtime. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Linda are encouraged to donate to the American Cancer Society.
