Lois Fowler, 79, was born Oct. 9, 1929. She earned her wings on May 1.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Born in Goodnight, Texas, she met Lee Fowler and they wed on Feb. 27, 1948. She is survived by her husband, Lee Fowler, and her sons Dwayne Fowler, Robert Fowler and Alan Fowler of Anchorage, her daughters Betsy Starner of Lehi, Utah, and Cherri Vitali of Pioneer, Calif., as well as 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
The family homesteaded in Hatcher Pass in the 1960s. Her family gathered in Pioneer, Calif., for a week-long session of laughter, memories and tears. She was a kind and loving soul and she touched many hearts and though she has left this earth, she will never be forgotten.
Her most famous saying was “Darlin’ I’m not going to live forever!” She lived every day to the fullest.
