Long time Palmer resident, Lois June Neher Overton, 91, passed away Oct. 4, 2018, at the Mat-Su Regional Hospital.
A time of sharing, stories, and memories will be held {span}on Saturday May 18, 2019 at {/span}1:00pm in the dining hall of the Palmer Senior Center on Church Street. Refreshments will be provided.
Lois June was born on July 4, 1927 in Knox, Indiana. She married her husband of 65 years, Charles Overton, on Christmas Eve, 1949, in Indiana. Charles passed away in 2015. They moved to Anchorage in 1969 with their daughter Marylou, and their son Mark Alan. Her parents Everett and Emma Neher accompanied them. While in Indiana Lois June and Charles were champion roller skaters. After moving to Anchorage they were square dancers and they continued dancing at various venues around Palmer. They were also regular attendees at the Palmer Pentecostal Church. As an excellent seamstress, quilter, crocheted and crafter she held the lowest fair entry number at the Palmer Fair and even won many ribbons with her entrees at the fair last August.
In addition to their son and daughter and their spouses, she is survived by 8 grand children and 21 great grand children.
