Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lowell “Abe” Willis Abramson, 57, passed away Nov. 25, 2007, at home in Wasilla.
He was born Oct. 13, 1949, to Willis and Virginia Abramson in Madera, Calif. He graduated high school in 1968, then joined the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as master sergeant in July 1980 as an aircraft electrician. Abramson was then employed with U.S. Civil Service at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1996, then became an Alaska resident.
The last 10 years of Abramson’s career was spent as an aircraft mechanic technician with Swiss Port, Alaska Airlines, Raytheon, Polar Air Cargo, Federal Express and UPS. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, spending time with family, friends and his beloved Labrador retrievers Duke and Bosco. He also enjoyed spending many hours in his hot tub that looks over the lake by his home.
Abramson was a very hard-working man and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lexie Wooten. He is survived by wife, Tracy Abramson of Wasilla; daughter, Brandy Martenez of Ogden, Utah; step-children, Scarlett (Kevin) La Stair and Spencer Hall of Wasilla; sister Janice (Vernon); and grandchildren, Brody, Dylan, Trayce, Braylyn, Max and Belle.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. March 19, 2008, at Fort Richardson Cemetery in Anchorage. Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Family is requesting flowers at the services.
Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer assisted the family.
