Lucille “Lucy” Mary Smith (Perach) gained her angel wings on March 6, 2024, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK, after a long-time struggle with COPD and several other health complications. Lucy was 79 and will be greatly missed and remembered by many lives she touched.
Lucy was born on May 13, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to John Perach and Sally Perach (March). Lucy is survived by seven children; Corrine, Kevin, Pat, Mike, Roger, James and Kenny. Also, many brothers and sisters (of the Perach 11) and in-laws; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Though Lucy did not spend the majority of her life in Alaska, she formed some of her closest family ties there, notably daughter-in-law Candice, granddaughter Kiley, grandsons Brian, Jackson, and friends Cynthia and Lisa.
Lucy was a fun spirited soul with a big heart and loving nature. She enjoyed going to bingo, playing rummy, camping, watching WWE and especially spending time with her family. One of her favorite places was by a campfire.
Lucy was unselfish to a fault. Often neglecting the needs of herself for the needs and well-being of her many friends and family. She cared so deeply for the people around her with her kindness. Most importantly Lucy was a terrific mom and grandma. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.
A celebration of life is in the works for a later date. In Lieu of flowers or monetary donations, Lucy and the family would ask looking into volunteering at a local senior center or nursing home to give friendship, comfort and warmth to those who need it.
