Lucinda Rose ‘Cindy’ Navarre

Lucinda “Cindy” Navarre passed away on Nov. 10, 2020, surrounded by family at her home in Wasilla. She was 61.

Cindy was born in Anchorage, Alaska on April 14, 1959, to Pricilla Gilbreath and Ken White. She attended Chugiak High School.

A strong-willed, warm-hearted and deeply caring woman, Cindy had a passion for music, played piano beautifully, enjoyed arts and crafts, and loved watching classic television and Disney movies. The lifelong Alaskan also loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, riding dirt bikes and snowmachining.

But by far her greatest gift was the kindness she showed to children and those in need. From a young age, Cindy helped raise a large extended family that included numerous siblings and step-siblings — demonstrating the selflessness that would become a hallmark of her life.

“Cindy was a loving, protective mother who unselfishly opened her home to friends and family through the years if they were in need,” her family said.

She was a strong-willed woman who wasn’t afraid to say what she thought with whole-hearted intentions.

“She would correct anyone who took the Lord’s name in vain in her home.”

She and her husband Pat were married for 37 years. In addition to being a loving mother, Cindy helped her husband run the Midnight Sun restaurant, the At Your Service cleaning business, and did landscaping at the family’s Arby’s restaurants.

“She loved God and all his children, especially her own who have many stories of the length of love she has shown through the years,” the family said.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Navarre; daughter, Davida: and sons: Demetrius, Jared, Shane, and Daniel Navarre and their families; brothers: Keith and Kirk White; sister, Syrena McGowen Rheault; nine grandchildren; and many other beloved family members in the Klein, White, Gilbreath, McGowen, Marth, Doogan and Navarre families.

“She loved them all,” her family said.
