Lucretia P. Rick, 87 of Wasilla, passed away Dec. 24 at her residence.

Lucretia asked that no services be held.

Lucretia was born July 25, 1922, to Charles and LaPressia (Cross) Lutz, in New Castle, Pa. In 1954 Lucretia and her husband (Samuel P. Rick) packed their car with their two daughters, and moved from N. Girard, Pa., to Alaska, driving the Alcan Highway to Anchorage. She had been employed at the Oyster Loaf Restaurant, the U.S. Postal Services as a postal clerk, Alascom, FAA., Alaska Sale and Service, and Fraternal Order of Alaska State Troopers. After her husband passed away in 1994, her grandson Charlie moved in with her to help out around the residence.

She enjoyed many hunting, fishing and camping trips with her husband. During retirement, Lucretia traveled with her husband extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada plus numerous cruises. She also kept busy by visiting friends and crocheting and knitting for her family.

Lucrecia was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #234 in Pennsylvania, Women of the Moose in Anchorage, Fraternal Order of Alaska State Troopers of Anchorage, as well as being a secretary of the Anchorage High School PTA in 1957.

She is survived by her two daughters: Wilma M. Gonzales and husband Chuck of Wasilla, Betty J. Harriman and husband Lynn of Anchorage; six grandchildren, Joseph Peters and wife Karen of Arizona, and Marjorie Johnson and husband Richard of Wasilla, Robert Peters and wife Shari of Arizona, Richard Berry and wife Holly of Washington state, James Berry of Anchorage, Charles Berry of Wasilla; 11 great-grandchildren and one step- great-grandchild and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Samuel P. Rick, son Robert S. Rick, and grandson William F. Berry, as well as her parents and brothers and sisters. Arrangements were made through Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
