Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

M. Blanche Mossburgh, 91, died May 10, 2012, at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kan.
She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in St. Joseph, Kan., to Joseph and Anna (Perret) Girard.
She graduated from Concordia High School. She married Ovid F. Mossburgh in Lubbock, Texas, on March 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1986.
She worked as a clerk at B&J Drug and then later as a certified nurse’s aid at St. Mary’s Hospital in Concordia. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Altar Society and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are daughter, Linda Thoman and husband Boyd of Concordia, Kan.; son, Stephen Mossburgh and wife Tanya of Palmer; sisters, Dora Mae Moffett of Concordia, Kan. and Patricia Decker of Seattle, Wash.; special adopted daughter, Bonnie Bray of Aurora, Kan.; grandchildren, Jan and Dan Anderson, Mike Wood, Jeff and Shella Thoman, Kevin Thoman, Kathy and Jimmy Farmer, Cheriee Mossburgh and Luke Mossburgh; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Anderson, Shelby and Tyson Douglas, Jessica Collette and Noah and Isaac Thoman; and great-great-grandchildren, Kieran and Suttyn Douglas.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Ovid; daughter, Helen Ann Almon; parents; four brothers; and eight sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m., May 15, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial follows at St. Concordia Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., May 14 with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 p.m. and Vigil services at 6:30 p.m., all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
