Mac Arthur Stevens

Mac Arthur Stevens was born Feb.25, 1936, in Eureka, California, to Mac L. and Irene Stevens. He passed away Nov. 30, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. Mac joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served for four years as an airplane mechanic. He then moved to Washington State prior to moving to Alaska. He moved to Alaska in the early 70’s, first living and working in Juneau, then Anchorage surveying the Alaska Pipeline at Prudhoe Bay. Mac moved to Talkeetna in 1975 and started his businesses of Mac A. Stevens, Registered Land Surveyor, and Talkeetna Riverboat Service. He also owned and operated, along with his partner Nancy Trump, the Latitude 62 Lodge. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Irene; brother Dennis; son Mac A. Stevens, Jr. and nephew Jack Stevens. Mac is survived by three daughters, Kay Romine, June Kinzel, and Suzette McClintock; grandchildren, Melanie, Mac, Natalie and Sarah Stevens, Lonnie Reese, Riley Vaughan, and Zachary and Carly McClintock; and life partner Nancy Trump. Mac is also survived by his nieces, Donna DeMarco and Diana Parlin, and many cousins. Mac enjoyed traveling the world, including trips to Russia and Scotland. Mac also enjoyed hunting and fishing in northern California as a youth, then Washington state, and the great hunting and fishing grounds of Alaska. Mac and Nancy have made many friends from all over the world as owners and operators of Latitude 62. Burial will be at the Talkeetna Cemetery at 12 p.m. and a Celebration of Life will follow at Latitude 62 Lodge, Talkeetna on May 19, 2018.
