Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Makenzie Lynne Langendorf, 20, passed away on August 21, 2015 in her home in Wasilla.
Makenzie was born August 9, 1995 in Anchorage. After graduating high school and completing course work for her CNA at the age of 17,she had hopes of starting a nursing career. She was a lifelong Alaskan, she worked as a CNA for Jenitta for a year and half, then later worked for her father in Talkeetna.
Makenzie was a true Alaskan chick, she loved being outside, being with family, hanging with friends, game nights, bonfires, baking, taking selfies, and of course shopping. She was a loving daughter, caring sister, fierce and loyal friend. She stole anyone's heart who came into contact with her. She wasn’t scared of anything and would always protect her family or anyone she loved. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her and will always hold a place in our hearts forever.
Makenzie is survived by her mother Misty Vaughn, father Gilbert Guenther, brother James Langendorf, sister Hannah Langendorf, cousins Sabrina, Marcus, Whisper, Triniti, Sloan, Paris, Ryder, Jackson, Paxton and Kash; second cousins, Tysen and Journey, aunts Kathy, Theresa, and Jamie; uncles Destry, Duane, and Jonathan and many more relatives on both sides. She is proceeded in death by her grandmother Mary Vaughn and many other relatives.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 28 at 4 p.m. at 3399 Dawn Lake in Wasilla. Funeral Services were entrusted to Legacy Wasilla Heritage Chapel.
