Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Marcella “Sally” Rymer was born May 21, 1925, in Kane, Pennsylvania, to Herbert and Alice Cannon. She died March 4, 2016, in Wasilla, Alaska.
She lived most of her life in Pennsylvania and Washington state. The last 14 years were spent living in Alaska with her daughter and son-in-law.
She married Albert R. Rymer on May 26, 1945. They were married until his death in 1987. She was very active throughout her life in the Order of Eastern Star and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and bowled in two leagues well into her 80s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Lois Buckland; and her brother, Frank Cannon. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Ludlum, son-in-law, Alex Ludlum; granddaughter, Rebecca Bond; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Barnes, Alyssa Godwin, Joshua Godwin; and nephew, Jim Chapman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Palmer Highway Church of God, 349 E. Arctic Ave., Palmer, Alaska.
