Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Mark Jeffery Wallace, age 67, passed away at his home in Wasilla Saturday Nov. 12, 2016.
Mark was born in Portland, Oregon in 1949 and attended schools in Oregon and California. He joined the army in 1966, served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1969. After the army, he spent time in Hawaii.
Later, he moved back to Oregon where he met Linda Clawson. They were wed in April of 1974. Their first-born was Matthew April 21, 1975. Six other children blessed their marriage.
In 1988 the family was sealed in the Seattle Temple for time and all Eternity.
Mark wanted a better life for his family so they moved to Alaska in 1994 and found residence in Wasilla. Mark had worked for the USPS in Oregon and continued in Anchorage then Wasilla. He retired in August of 2013 from the Post Office after more than 40 years’ service.
His hobbies were: dog mushing, fishing, boating and golfing.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Matthew, Jason, Jennifer, Victoria, William, Melissa, Jeffery; and 21 grandchildren.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Nov. 19, 2016 at 12:00pm at the LDS Knik Chapel at 10865 Horizon Dr., Wasilla Alaska.
