Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Mark Leigh Robertson, 39, died Dec. 14, 2011, at his home in Wasilla.
Mark was born Jan. 25, 1972, in Nashua, N.H., the son of Linda J. Robertson.
A memorial service in honor of Mark was held this week with family and friends. Pastor Rodney officiated.
Mark had been a resident of Alaska off and on for the last nine years. He attended college for two years and was a sales representative in the construction industry. He enjoyed all sports and spending time with family.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Linda J. Robertson; nephew, Jaden Grossnickle; uncles, Peter and Paul; and grandparents, Irvin and Peggy Robertson.
He is survived by his loving dad, Dwight Grossnickle of Wasilla; step-mom, Sharon Antilla of Wasilla; daughter, Alexis Rogers of Nevada; brothers, Peter Grossnickle, Joshua Grossnickle and Dwight Grossnickle Jr., Brandon Seavey, J.J. Seavey and Timmy Seavey, all of Wasilla; sister, Tanya Grossnickle of Wasilla; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
"Mark was an amazing person who loved to make people laugh," the family wrote. "We are not saying goodbye to Mark; rather, see you on the other side. RIP."
The family was cared for by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory.
