Mark Monroe Fuller of Wasilla passed peacefully with family by his side on September 21, 2018. Born in Anchorage, Alaska on April 15, 1952, he was the third of six children born to Skip and Sally Fuller. The family homesteaded in the Meadow Lakes area of Wasilla on what is now Fuller Lake.

He graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1970. As a young man he worked for his father at several of his businesses in Anchorage. Mark joined the IBEW apprenticeship program and became a telephone lineman. He also became co-owner of the Alley Cat Bar with his brother Michael for several years.

Mark worked for IBEW for 38 years, traveling around the state of Alaska. He also worked on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. Mark met Brenda Jo Colburn and her two children, Daniel and Kimberly while on a job in California. They moved as a family to Fairbanks in August of 1991. Mark and Brenda were married in Fairbanks on August 5, 1995. The family then moved to Wasilla during the summer of 1996. Mark then adopted Kimberly and Daniel as his own. He retired in 2008 and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mark was known for his generosity and would give you the shirt off his back. He was a truly unforgettable character. He was gentle, genuine, easy going. Mark was prepared for everything – his wife always said he would make a good boy scout. His kids say he was compassionate, empathetic genuine and an honorable gentleman. A hard worker, he had the biggest heart for everyone. He was a brilliant intellectual, a great storyteller and a role model for many young people he helped along the way.

Mark is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter, Kimberly Danford (Brooks), Son, Daniel (Jean) and five grandchildren; Brooklynn, Olivia, Kambria, Brendan and Royce, all of Wasilla. Also survived by his mother, Sally Fuller and siblings; Kathy Zehnder, Ken Fuller (Linda), Michael Fuller, Joel Fuller (Janette), Robert Fuller and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by; his father, Monroe “Skip” Fuller, brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Zehnder of Wasilla, his nephew Eric Zehnder, cousins Rothel “Rocky” Fuller, Lawrence “Larry” Fuller, and Donna Jean Fuller as well as many other aunts and uncles.

Viewing will be at Legacy Funeral Home, 1015 South Check Street in Wasilla on Thursday September 27 from 5pm to 8pm.

Funeral service will be held at Christ First United Methodist Church, 5137 West Fairview Loop Road in Wasilla on Friday September 28 at 11am.

Celebration of life will be held at the Wasilla VFW Hall, 301 E. Lakeview Avenue, following internment.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Christ First United Methodist Church in memory of Mark Fuller.
