Longtime Alaska resident Mrs. Martha A. Kennedy, 63, passed away peacefully at home in Willow, Alaska, on Nov. 10, 2015.

Martha was born in Flat Rock, Illinois, to Wayne and Evelyn Carter on Aug. 30, 1952. She graduated high school at Robisson High in 1970 and graduated from Sedalia School of Nursing in Missouri as a LPN. She later retired from Mat-Su Regional Hospital after 15 years as a CNA in 2012.

Martha is survived by her husband, Rocky Kennedy; her mother, Evelyn Carter; brothers, William, Bruce and Leon; her sister, Sheila Wilson, all of Illinois. Also, her son, William McCormick, of Anchorage; daughter, Kathay Kineen; grandchildren, Jason, Kayla, and Katelyn Kineen; and great-grandson, Noah Paul Kineen, all of Palmer, Alaska.

Martha lived her life on Earth as if she already had her angel wings. She always looked at the bright side, and always had time to listen. Her favorite pastimes where collecting angels and reading stories of angels. She was loved by many and will be missed by many more.

Services will be held on March 26, 2016, at Christ Centered Community Church, on Caswell Lake Road, in Caswell, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society.
