Martha "Marty" Victoria Lachinski passed away on February 6, 2024, in Palmer, Alaska, at the age of 76. Marty was born on November 27, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Marty was an easy-to-love person who cherished her family and friends. She was always ready to offer a helping hand and took great pride in her role as a Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma. Marty created lasting memories with her grandchildren, hosting special New Year's Eve parties and spending quality time with them growing up. Her warm and accepting nature extended beyond her own family, as she was also known as "Grandma Marty" to many others.
In her professional life, Marty worked in accounting and customer service at various companies, including British Petroleum and Matanuska Telephone Association, where she retired in 2007. She was known for her dedication and hard work throughout her career.
Outside of work, Marty found joy in reading, crocheting, sewing, and crafting. She used her skills to create beautiful pieces for her loved ones, leaving behind treasured memories through her handcrafted work.
Marty was a proud member of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed spending time with her sorority sisters. She was also passionate about travel. She loved to read her bible. She took pride in her Texas roots, speaking fondly of her family in the Lone Star State.
Marty is survived by her daughters Melissa (Rick) Keil, Jennifer (Dave) Byers, son Andy (Claudia) Lachinski, along with grandchildren Gary (Lacy), Jared (Mika), Kourtney (Caleb), Noah, Hailey, Cody, MacKenzie, Kaylee and Casey and great-grandchildren Haydin, Brody, Annabelle, Adie, Brooklynn, Scout, Evie, Korbin, Sterling, Hendrix, Skylee, Mailee and Everleigh, who all brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her mother ElDora Baker, father Jim Howard Foster, sister Dorothy Yarbrough and Aunt Clara Mea Foster.
Per Marty's wishes, there will not be a formal service. Her loved ones will honor her by spreading some of her ashes at a special location in Palmer, with her final resting place being beside her parents in Texas. Marty's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
