Alaska resident Mary Kathleen Marchione, 67, passed away at home on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary was born on Aug. 22, 1948, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She moved to Alaska in 1995 and lived in Anchorage until 2004, then moved to Wasilla. She worked for Providence Extended Care for 20 years and retired there. Over the 20 years she worked at Providence Extended Care, she received the Mission Spirit Award two times. She loved dogs, drag racing, camping, and fishing.
Mary was always smiling and captured the love of everybody she met. She was a wonderful person to all. A very loving wife! Mary and Don were married for 8½ years.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald J. Rarer, of Wasilla, Alaska; sisters Carla Marchione Anderson and Lyla Marchione, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; brother, Albert Marchione, of Wasilla, Alaska; daughters, Jerica Ezeil, of St. Louis, Missouri; Josie Borison, of California; grandchildren, Jayda, Lyla and Glenn Ratcliff, of Anchorage, Alaska; Jazmine Ezell, of Anchorage, Alaska; Ian Foster, of Colorado; and Clay and Amber Borisow, of California.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila Brininstool; father, Albert Machione; and sister, Patty Warden.
