Mary Maupin

Palmer resident Mary E. “Betty” Maupin, 83, died peacefully Oct. 17, 2007, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

Services were held Oct. 19 and Father Bill Fournier of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated.

Maupin was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Atlantic City, N.J. She lived in Carteret, N.J., until 2004 and then in Palmer with her son, Donald, his wife, Donna, and their family until her death.

Maupin retired as the head of the radiology department for Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth, N.J. She enjoyed travel, time with family and friends, physical fitness activities and crossword puzzles.

Maupin is survived by sons, Kenny (Mary) of New Jersey, Donald (Donna), Paul of Pennsylvania and Raymond of Alaska; brother, Raymond Riley of New Jersey; and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sons Robert and Paul; and daughter Patricia. Maupin will be buried with her husband in New Jersey.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
