WASILLA — Alaska Craftsman Home Program will offer two days of free classes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the offices of the Valley Board of Realtors, 741 E. Susitna Ave., Wasilla. The classes compile the elements of the program’s eight energy efficiency workshops for homeowners. People can select the classes that interest them the most, or attend all eight.
Here’s the class schedule:
Aug. 24
• 8 to 10 a.m. — Building Science Basics
• 10 a.m. to Noon — Air Leakage
• 1 to 3 p.m. — Insulation
• 3 to 5 p.m. — How to Choose a Contractor
Aug. 25
• 8 to 10 a.m. — Heating and Hot Water
• 10 a.m. to Noon — Windows and Doors
• 1 to 3 p.m. — Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality
• 3 to 5 p.m. — Lighting and Appliances
The classes are free to the public, and 12 to 16 hours of continuing education credit is available for residential contractors, Realtors, home inspectors, appraisers, architects and engineers.
