MAT-SU — Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation is planning a series of meetings in the next few weeks to put together a plan to identify key linkages between communities, trails and parks systems within the Mat-Su Valley.
The information gathered will be included in the Mat-Su Trails Master Plan, which will be used by the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation as an internal planning tool to direct its priorities for building an integrated trail system in the borough.
The non-profit Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation was formed in 2011 to work with user groups, the borough and other agencies to build, fund and maintain Mat-Su trails and parks.
Community meetings are at:
• 5:30 p.m., Oct. 19, at Knik Elementary School, 6350 W. Hollywood Road.
• 10 a.m., Oct. 20, at Butte Fire Station, 3355 S. Old Glenn Highway.
• 6:30 p.m., Oct. 26, at Wasilla Senior Center, 1301 Century Circle.
• 10 a.m., Oct. 27, at Willow Community Center, Mile 69.7, Parks Highway (tentative).
• 3 p.m., Oct. 27, at Big Lake Faith Bible Fellowship, 14159 W. Hollywood Road.
• 6:30 p.m., Nov. 2, at Palmer High School, 11700 W. Arctic Ave.
• 10 a.m., Nov. 3, at Glacier View Bible Church, 35455 W. Glenn Highway (tentative).
