Wasilla resident Matthew Gordon Scott, 20, died unexpectedly April 16, 2012, in Anchorage.
Funeral services in honor of Matthew are at 1 p.m., April 21 at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E. Herning Ave., Wasilla. Pastor Diane Krauszer will officiate.
Matthew was born Oct. 5, 1991, in Palmer, Alaska son of Dan Scott and Deborah Hurd.
Matthew attended Wasilla High School. He enjoyed drifting in his truck, skiing, fishing, hunting and spending time with friends.
His desire was to become a psychologist and was enrolled as a freshman at UAA pursuing his goal. Not wanting to be an only child Matt’s friends were his extended family in addition to his mother and father. He was a Wasilla boy at heart, but was always proud of his Boston Roots. He had a mischievous side, but a kind heart.
Matthew was preceded in death by his daughter, Adyline Nicole Sharlow (Feb. 20, 2009 to June 17, 2009).
He is survived by his father, Danny Lee Scott of Wasilla; mother, Deborah Hurd of Wasilla; grandfather, Gordon Scott of Wasilla; grandparents, Mike and Shirley Sheronick of Interlochen, Mich.; grandmother, Frances Hurd of Saugus, Mass.; uncle and aunt, Monte and Chris Scott of Petoskey, Mich.; uncle and aunt, Jeff and Pam Scott of Mich.; uncle and aunt, Larry and Holly Hurd of Saugus, Mass.; aunt, Nancy Hurd of Saugus, Mass.; aunts, Neta and Harvey Douthit of Soldotna; uncle, Sonny Gregory of Washington; and lots of cousins in Massachusetts, Michigan and Alaska.
