Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Melvin J. Worth Jr., 82, died March 29, 2012, in Bellingham, Wash.
He was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Garber, Okla., to Melvin Worth and Dorothy Triplett.
Melvin was a retired veterinarian with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was active in the Palmer Senior Center and Kiwanis.
Family was very important to Melvin. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and wives, Arlene (Goodding) Worth and Bonnie (Burgoyne) Worth.
Surviving are children, Henry Worth, Marlene (Gary) Bring and Marilyn (Barry) Mothershead; grandchildren, Kerisa (Nate) Bode, Robbi McAllister, Tabby Mothershead and Becca Mothershead; great-grandchildren, Carlie, Ashton, Emily and Bailey; siblings, La Tola, Patricia, Polly, Melvetta and Janetta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 2901 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98225, or Palmer Senior Center, 1132 S. Chugach St., Palmer, AK 99645.
A memorial mass is at 6:30 p.m., April 12 at St. Michael Parish, 432 E. Fireweed Ave., Palmer.
