Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Michael Andrew Chase, 22, died from natural causes May 10, 2012, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., May 14 at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check St., Wasilla. Memorial services in his honor are at 3 p.m., May 20 at Wasilla Bible Church, with Pastor Jim Eller officiating.
Michael was born Dec. 29, 1989, in Anchorage, and was a lifetime resident of Alaska. He enjoyed music, movies and the outdoors.
“Every day with Michael was a blessing,” his family wrote. “His unconditional love and happy smile warmed our hearts.”
Michael is survived by his father and mother, Marvan and Julie Blatchford Chase of Palmer; sisters, Jessica Chase Faletagoai and Julianna Chase of Palmer, and Joy Chase of Tokyo, Japan; grandparents, Charles and Terri Granger Chase of Palmer and Sidney Blatchford of Anchorage; aunts, Jeanette Blatchford of Carlin, Nev., Camey Gaines of Fallon, Nev., and Wendy Roux Chase of Kent, Wash.; uncle, Kenneth Chase of Kent, Wash.; cousins, Dylan and Joshua Chase of Kent, Wash., and Alexis Gunnels and Liam Gaines of Fallon, Nev.; and great-aunt, Dawn Granger Blatchford of Anchorage.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Ruth Marie Tomko Chase; and grandfather, John Patrick Youngblood.
