Michael Charles Woods, 60, of Anchorage died June 19, 2012, in Madeira Beach, Fla.
Born May 16, 1952, in LaPorte, Ind., he was the eldest of three children and the only son of Waldo and Carol Woods.
Surviving are his father; the families of his sisters, Toddy Reid and Lee Hummel; and nephews, Jason and Travis.
Preceding him in death was his mother; grandparents; and his wife, Christine.
Michael was raised in Valparaiso, Ind., and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1970.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash.
He had lived in Alaska for many years before recently moving to Florida to enjoy the weather, sun and the water.
Michael was cremated and his ashes will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico later in July.
