It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Sain (Mike) announces his passing. He leaves behind two brothers (Jerry and David Sain), a daughter (Sherry Sain) and a granddaughter (Heather Schlafer).
Mike lived to be 80 years old and was able to enjoy many of life’s blessings. He was born, raised, lived, married, and raised his family in California. He later moved to Alaska in 2000 and fell in love with The Land of the Midnight Sun. Michael married his only wife, Julie February 1, 1964, in San Luis Obispo County, CA. He is also a veteran serving in the United States Army from 1966 to 1973 being stationed in Berlin, Germany, ranking E4, and being honorably discharged. Afterwards Michael worked at the PG&E hydro-electric plant for a great many years while living in northern California. Meanwhile simultaneously being very active in his surrounding communities helping with the local schools, being a volunteer firefighter, with his daughters 4H, and much more. Michael was an avid hunter with having hunted in California, Colorado, Wyoming, Czechoslovakia, Africa, Alaska, and several other states. These past few years Michael has been very faithful and committed to his Church being an active and beloved member supported by the community of the church. Among Michaels many accomplishments, he will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, volunteering in the community, and being a faithful member of the church.
The entire community will miss Mike, but he will be reunited with his beloved wife (Julie Sain) in Heaven, along with all the pets he loved throughout his lifetime, and with the friends and family who had preceded him.
