Life long Valley resident Michael David Cox, 35 passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2022. A service will be held at Legacy Heritage Chapel 1015 S Check Street Wasilla, AK on Saturday, August 6th at 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow in Palmer. His son, has requested attendees wear Carhartt clothing in honor of his dad. Mike was born July 14, 1987 in Anchorage, Alaska to Deborah and Donald Cox. He grew up in the Mat Su Valley and graduated from high school in 2005. Mike got an early start in construction prior to graduating and built several homes in the Valley in his early 20’s. He continued in the construction trade, specializing in building power plants in rural Alaska until his passing. Mike married Ayslan Havemeister in 2010. Four children soon followed, which were his greatest joy in life. His kids cherish the memories with their dad — exploring Hatcher Pass, Sushi dinner dates, daddy snuggles, and his silly childhood memories. Mike is survived by his wife, Ayslan and children, Addison, Ezekiel, Elliott, and Penelope. He will forever be remembered by his in-laws, Bob & Franci Havemeister and the large extended Havemeister family. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Cox and father, Donald Cox.
